FOR CANON which would you recommend ? the mk 1 or the mk 2 version ?

Mk1 is better in terms of construction, opticall they are the same.

you get a metal mount, and a focus distance meter with MK1, but good luck finding one.

i would take a mark 1 as well

Again it would be the mark one out of choice but the price difference meant I went with the mark 2
