Nick Grimshaw caught out by big ginger pussy

Considering he was in town in a gelander wagen and it's him. Yes I definitely can believe it. I had one for a long time as my personal vehicle. Whilst much better than a Land Rover it is still rather utilitarian. It's seems to have grown a cult status in London especially the AMG version, but it's God awful to drive on hardened surfaces.

15mph, drives up the wing of the car, wagon reaches tip over point, bang. Easy to understand
 
When I was a kid, I saw an Austin Metro pull out of a side turning and barely 50 yards down the road, clip a kurb, go up on two wheels and nearly roll (the driver saved it somehow but more likely luck than judgement), I doubt the Metro was doing anywhere near the 30mph speed limit when this happened and it would have had a lot lower center of gravity than the Merc Grimmy was driving.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt about his speed but would suggest he's not a particularly talented driver :lol:
 
I thought one of many things you are taught when learning to drive is you dont swerve for anything.
Like most are saying though a bit of a talentless driver.

f*** falling in the road when you're driving down it. I don't every remember being told not to swerve for anything. I would happily swerve to avoid a person but certainly not for a cat.

When I did an advanced drivers course they recommended not swerving for anything "less" than a dog (I think that may come from when dogs had to be licensed or the fact that anything the size of a "normal" dog or bigger is more likely cause more damage to you/your car).

They used the expression "IFOID" It Flies Or It Dies :lol:
 
Am I the only person who had to Google Nick Grimshaw to find out what he is? Not really in Radio 1's demographic these days!

I brake for animals but not sure I'd swerve into something to avoid one, although I might - hard to say without having been in that situation. In residential areas, I tend to be driving fairly slowly while covering the brake anyway - big auto tends to be close to 30 at tickover! I have managed to roll a Landy at under 30; a blowout sent me up a bank and that sent us rolling back down (proper roll, not just on its side. Thankfully we were both unscathed beyond a bruise or 2 but the Landy was a write off - every panel was beyond salvation although the only glass that broke was a couple of indicator lenses.
 
as a driver of a higher up vehicle, i can see how this could happen, front end mounts lower car and up and over you go. But at 15mph unless he kept his foot on the gas i doubt the car would have had momentum to do it

The stopping distance at 15mph would surely have missed the cat, maybe he wasn't paying attention due to doing his hair/speaking on phone/lipstick etc

Stunt drivers aren't travelling very fast when they get a vehicle up on two wheels, he'd only have to catch the slope of the bumper and wing of the other car with the corner of his front bumper to start it all off, within a second he's up on two wheels or in this case on his side.

those stunt drivers drove up a ramp a lot higher than the front wing of the car (measured to get to the car to the balancing point), wasn't braking like Grimshaw would have been whilst swerving, can't disagree about the fact he has gone over, but he wasn't doing 15mph IMO

Doesn't matter if a car wing isn't as high as the ramp or not, catch it right and his car will ride up it, have the front wheel turned in as he does so and his car ends up on it's side.
 
I'd guess he rode up the wing, panicked, turned the wheel and rolled.,
