Nice number plate

There was a heavily modified blue Opel in front of me at the lights this morning:

I mean, I saw M4 GUY in the Lake District once. That's just wrong.

Nope.
I did a bit of digging, and it looks like A400 is an aftermarket engine line you can get for Opels, so it could be that middle zero is doing double duty.
 
Saw an old white Pontiac Firebird (I think) with VOODOO (V90DOO)
 
On the A14 this morning, a Range Rover with the plate: AUS 511E
Presumably Australian.
The plate appeared to have been made with an S instead of a 5, but clearly would have to have been a 5 for standard number plate formats.
 
At Cliveden on Sunday I saw a Lotus Esprit with registration plate E5PRT.

(But my camera's battery had run out.)

That one sounds like one where it "looks" like WOOW in other words which characters are 'really' the letters and which are the numbers???

Having said that one simple was to check the number belongs to that make of car is this .gov site. https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk

It shows the vehicles tax & MoT status

Someone local to me has GP1 and 1GP on his and his wifes car, must be worth a fortune.
 
I still like the ones I knew about a few years back

He was a GP and part time pathologist , she didn't work .

the number plates were VD1 [ his] 1VD [ hers]

I saw what looked like a nearly new Jag yesterday with the registration plate FA11 GUY. My thought was that if he was, he did very well out of it.
 
I just dont see the point in a private plate? Only person who doesnt see it is the one in the said car! Lol
 
Here in York there's a huge number of private reg plates on all sorts of crappy cars (as well as some nice cars!) - don't understand why.

Mostly seem to be people's initials I think.

Should’ve snapped the one I saw today... something like ES03bar. Took me a second to realise it was supposed to be Escobar and sure enough below he has “plata o plomo - Escobar”

Somebody clearly watched too much narcos. Even Escobar himself wouldn’t have driven around with that on his car.

My apologies in turn. I've never really been interested watching tv unless it's a documentary or comedy programme, and I completely missed the joke, which having looked up the series on Wikipedia, was a good one. :)
 
Another one in the Waitrose car park today. I followed a very shapely 30 something lady out of the store and saw her get in a car with the registration L15 SOM. I was so interested in the very pleasant sight of her derriere in her fitted jeans and the aptness of the registration that I completely failed to notice the make of car. :D,

Sounds a very familiar situation myself - was doing something similer to our new supervisor in one of our stores lately [emoji23]

My fresh bike has a model appropriate reg plate - R III ROC. Wouldn't have bought the plate for the bike but won't be changing it since it came with it.
 
I saw SAD 1 E this week in Bridge of Allan. Can't remember the car - it was either German or a Range Rover though. Might not be worth much nowadays - you don't hear of too many girls called Sadie now.

AUS 51E would be an old style numberplate, IE 1967 not 2001.

I've joined the personalised plate brigade by keeping my old Mitsubishi FTO's Irish plate on my Civic. Hides the age nicely!
 
I've just had to pay £80 for the payment for the retention , or whatever it is , to transfer my own number plate from the Freelander to the C-Max :(

3 digits and 3 letters - ageless :D

Is that ageless, or is it just so old you're never going to find a car that pre dates it?

Speaking of fees, I arrived home to a letter from the finance company giving me the address where I can send them a cheque for £25 to cover the administration of changing the reg number on file. They shall be getting an equally impolite letter pointing out that I do not have a cheque book.
