Ok, so I have been gifted a Pentax ME Super, with motor wind, and three lenses, a vivitar flash (with funky side bracket) all in a foam lined case.
I`ve put a list and quick snap in the "Price Checks" page, as I really have no idea as to weather to use it, or sell it all.
I must admit, I am quite tempted to give it a try, but then need to choose film, and where to get it developed etc.

Help and advice would be most welcomed :)

It'll be easier to sell, and will probably fetch more, if you can confidently say you've tested it successfully with a roll of film. :)

Or, you could shoot a roll, enjoy it, and keep using it yourself.

Film can still be had easily online, and is still being manufactured.

Analog Wonderland have a huge range to choose from, but there are many other places to buy it from, some cheaper than others.

Because colour film has become quite expensive lately, it might be cheaper to get a roll of black & white film - even though this tends to be a little more expensive to have developed (and ofter can't be developed by high street places, so has to be posted).

I'm typing this on my phone, so sorry to not add more detail. I'll add more later unless someone else comes along beforehand - lots of helpful folks in this part of the forum. (y)

as a compromise - definitely shoot at least one roll of film, use all the lenses, and if you decide that its not for you, provided the pictures all come out, at least you'll have proof when you sell it that everything works properly - which will probably add at least the cost of the film and processing onto the price you'll be able to realise for it...

I agree with @FishyFish and @TheBigYin put a roll of film through it. Whenever I buy new (2nd hand) film kit I put a test roll through to ensure it is working properly. I use a slide film which is more expensive but less forgiving of exposure errors and you don't need to have it scanned to assess the accuract of exposure etc. I find colour neg difficult to assess B&W less so but slide is easy.

Nige pretty much nailed it. Get a roll of 24xp HP5+ which will be cheap and give you a reasonable ISO of 400, and just put it through the camera. Lots of YouTube videos on loading it and operating if you need them.

Once you've done that, if you enjoy it, you can keep it, and if you found it a faff, you can sell it on as fully working (or honestly not if it's somehow broken). The lenses will likely be fine either way.

Thank you guys. I really appreciate the comments and advice

I guess I`ll order some B+W film to run through it, and see what happens :)

From looking at the developing side of things... Is it worth me just getting the pics (if any come out haha) just put on to a disk? Being that it will be my first go etc.

When you get them developed, just get the smallest scans done along with the dev. Most places will dropbox/wetransfer them to you so you don't have to wait for the negatives.

Ahh nice one. Thank you :)
I`ll do that then, for sure.

You can buy a bit of film in your local Boots if you don't want to wait (and pay postage) for delivery. An option is to get a roll of XP2 which is a black and white film that's processed with C41 (colour) chemistry. That will be cheaper to get processed, and easier to find a lab, too. Filmdev is used by quite a few folk on here and has pretty rapid turnround and scans by WeTransfer...

Film is in camera, and am snapping away (slowly). All seems good so far.
It does seem odd not to be able to see what you`ve shot though. I`ve not used film since i had a Nikon F301 back in the day ;)

Little update... Film has been received, and images should be with me in a week or so. Watch this space ;)

Well after a while of faffing around (by me). The Pentax ME Super actually works. Can`t remember what film it was, as I took so long to get my arse into gear... Having done all that, i have decided that film isn`t for me, so will be grabbing some pix of the kit, and putting it all up for sale :)
