Hi guys

Wondering if you could help me with a brief ive been given at college

Straight to the point

NHS Brief
Photograph a disease/illness to advertise

i.e AIDS,Give Blood,Swine Flu,HIV, Dentistry,Diet,Smoking - most known illnesses.

I would quite like to take a creative and humorous approach to this subject.

Swine Flu + Give Blood in one. A nice Bacon sandwich with Tomato Ketchup flowing out :P

I like the dentistry photo a lot, is it yours?
 
i think the smoking one would be more effective if the 'upright' cig had some 'burned ash' at the time and/or was still smoking/charring
 
Hmmm hard one to be humerous about really!
Being up in Glasgow you should not have to look too far for inspiration (I'm originally from there is anyone is offended) It's the heart attack capital of Europe and a dental wasteland! It also has one of the worst male mortality rates in the world. The average life expectancy of a male in the Calton area is 42, worse than Iraq.

How about a map of europe with a lump of batter stuck over Glasgow?

Good on you if you can find humour in that lot! :)

Or just Britain, a map of Europe would mean it would either have to be a huge poster, or a tiny piece of batter :P

just a thought, why not use two syringes instead of the cigarettes,
diluted red food colouring can easily be made to look like blood ...

Might be a hard one to fix together though...

What does everyone think of just using a really simple technique of slow shutter with smoke and put a red blood filter over it ....

Basic,but for the slogan of GIVE BLOOD ...seeing as we all have too much of it anyway!
 
Advertising an illness seems strange in itself I presume a cure or how to avoid an illness is more to the brief, I think I would go for a shocking image of some type the top one looks too much like sweets, the cross is a nice idea, maybe vertical and casting a shadow. I also like the syringe idea.
it would take a brilliant idea to get away with humour .

That's what I thought at first... "Try our new improved BSE, it's cracking!"

Love the toothbrush one, superb stuff! As for new ones, all I thought of is vampires seem to be very much 'in' at the moment, so for Give Blood a sexy vampire(ess) mouth with blood showing on teeth/lips. (Could use for dentistry as well?!!)

Good luck with this, sounds like a cracking challenge!

Lucecul how about for the give blood: Use a syringe of blood or fake IV bag but put a christmas bow around it and in a nice present box with a Christmas theme.
Don't give presents this Christmas - give something even more amazing... Give Blood.

coz that what the family really wants. i could imagine my baby brother putting on his christmas list "bottle of blood" i would send him straight to a phsyciatrist:lol:

Lots o people I know get bought a Goat or Water Pump from Oxfam for Christmas!
