Well she who shall be obeyed has decreed that Chatsworth would be a good place to take photos this weekend.

I've had a quick glance at the website and it looks good, anyone ever been?

My Sigma 10-20mm is all cleaned and ready to go! :D

If you mean Chatsworth House, then it's a really picturesque place...haven't been since I was nipper though, and was more interested in the playground

I think that's the one, somewhere in Derbyshire if I recall.

Weather forecast is good (fingers crossed!):D

I live about 20 mins drive from there.

Its a nice place but expect it to be busy, especially if its a nice day.

You can get some really good shots of the house from the surrounding parkland. Have a crack at the water fountain if its running.

If you walk along the river (downstream) there is an old derelict mill about 3/4 of a mile away, also a couple of weirs.

If you are in the area you could also try Bakewell and Ashford-in-the-Water. There are also some great shots from Monsal Head (and a nice pub) All within easy driving of Chatsworth.

Thanks for the heads-up Quaker

Went there ealrier this yr, pretty but crowded and on top of that exspensive,
however when passing through with Chatsworth House on the right, a little futher ( 0.5 mile) is a nice place to catch shots of some perfect looking cottages/ houses and church, and that costs nothing...

And as David says Ashford-in -the -Water, Nice there.

Don't forget to try the farm shop on the way home (right out of the gates, 1/4 mile on the left).

The Cascade on a sunny day is choc full of photo ops. Show us what you take :)
