I think Daniel Craig has done a good job with Bond, he’s been the best since Sean Connery for me. The worst was Roger Moore.

Urgh. I think this is likely but I'm against it. Unfortunately for the woke warriors James Bond is the name and in every film so far he's been a white Brit and IMO should remain so. I have no issue what so ever with another character being created and I'd very probably watch it but please lets not get into this gender, race and sexuality silliness with an existing and established character. This isn't Dr Who or Sam Beckett (I liked Quantum Leap.)

I'm all for ignoring race and gender and for sure we can have an action hero who is whatever race, gender or sexuality we can imagine. I really don't care, but lets have some consistency and if 007 simply has to be a woman or a different ethnicity or sexuality because we just can't have another straight white man in these woke days I hope they do the sensible thing and make the character 008.

For anyone who's seen Coronation Street... there's a character who is now as far as I can see white who used to not be. He's the child of a mixed race marriage and he, his parents and his brother have all been in the soap. He disappeared for a while and when he came back he'd changed race. Barmy. IMO.

I didn't like any of the pre DC Bonds. To me they were hammy and almost parody. I like the DC films the most but I think that after Casino Royal each one has been progressively worse. Skyfall to me was 007 meets Home Alone. I watched it but I also thought they could have done much better.

I agree. If the change in character isn't subtle, then they should be 008.

007 has been white, straight and male, that's who he is and that should remain so IMHO.

But AFAIK he was playing one or something like one and I can't see a woman playing James Bond coming off anything like as well. There are I suppose almost as bad abominations when it comes to accents in movies. Dick Van Dyke comes to mind but I'm sure there have been some howlers more recently too.
 
I'd love to see Tom Hiddleston but I think it would possibly need to see a move back toward more light-hearted Bond (almost anything Pre-Craig); I've enjoyed the Craig films (Not seen NTTD yet) but honestly preferred almost anyone who went before; it all got a bit serious!!

I don't see it being a female, despite how many people campaign for one; personally I see the character of Bond as a white bloke (as created by Fleming); and getting a bit fed up of the constant need for every white male character to seem to need to be changed for a non-white or non-male character; plenty of new TV and films so I don't see the need to mess with a character that's over 50 years old.... but thats not just a 007 thing

I am also getting fed up with the PC need to remove white characters from dramas. It was IMHO absolutely ridiculous to have a black Ann Boleyn, imagine if they tried to cast a white person in a drama role about Martin Luther King Junior.

As above, Coronation Street replaced a non white actor with a white one, Gosh knows why, and it seems top have passed the woke brigade by. Perhaps because they don't want to admit to watching Coronation Street :D
