Who's it gonna be?

I'd put a (virtual) wager on Tom Hardy.

I think it's long played out at this stage, had zero interest since Dan Craggy took over and never seemed convincing as Mr. Suave to me, but I'd agree Tom Hardy is about the right fit atm.

James Norton

In the running for me too.

Up until Skyfall, I was about the same. I did enjoy sitting down on a Saturday evening with a beer and watch a Bond film occasionally though, the oldies and the more recent ones. Skyfall though I thought was one of the best. The connection to Glencoe (Glen Etive actually) as well appealed to me I think, probably subconsiously, even though the end scenes at the house weren't filmed in Scotland, it still screamed Glencoe.

Might watch Spectre later.

Moore was the least bad Bond in my opinion. At least he injected some much needed humour into the films. I haven't managed more than 15 minutes of the subsequent efforts.

to be fair i think D.Craig has been by far the best bond yet.
his first outing in casino royale was stunning, brutal fight scenes and realism

i'm sad he has opted out
my money is the next bond will be a black man.

I've liked him as bond, but having seen the new film, I think he's right to bow out....starting to look too old.

I would say Craig has been my favourite Bond. Connery was good too.

No-one will match Connery and Moore. Maybe its unfair on Craig but not impressed with recent Bond films, too much special effects and lost a lot of what made Bond films so good.

MY Bonds in descending order.

Connery
Craig
Lazenby
Dalton/Brosnan
Moore
Niven (although he'd be 4th if pure enjoyment was the criterion!)

Or a black woman. Naomie Harris?

Has bond not now had its day?
They have run out of books so are 'inventing' more and more ridiculous storylines
I used to like watching when I was younger coz of all the exotic locations I had read about , talking about 60's and 70's now

nah, no way can Bond ever be a woman, much as i am all for equality for me that would be my turn off button.
oddly enough me and the wifey thing a gay man bond could be really cool, tough, chisselled and gay as owt, that could add a real twist

I'm a big Bond fan, and to me the story is now over. I get times have moved on with political correctness etc, but that's not what Bond is about. Hated No time to die, despite thinking Craig has been an excellent Bond.

Time to invent new characters, or at least have a spin off with 008 or such like

Mike

The more I think about it the more I think you're right.

It would be good to have a black / female / gay / whatever 00 agent.

Jodie Comer?

But change it up entirely.

Don’t really care ,even if it’s a something / someone that’s fits in with this weird world we live in ..one provisio though this time they really have to blow up the houses of parliament

Craig has been an excellent Bond.
Times move on, so do characters, no question that the other "bonds" were good in their times,
but as a recent Bond, Daniel Craig, has been excellent.
As for the next one? no idea.
Craig will be a hard act to follow.

What about one of the contestants from the drag race , masters or some other gender of disguise

The bloke who was in Bridgerton, Regé-Jean Page would be in the running I think.
Was going to say the same. The producers have hinted that the next Bond will be a different race or gender to keep the role contemporary (I didn’t say I agree, so don’t shoot the messenger ;)). He fits the bill perfectly and has the right mix of appeal for both men and women IMO.

I think Daniel Craig has done a good job with Bond, he’s been the best since Sean Connery for me. The worst was Roger Moore.

I don't have any strong preferences when it comes to the actors who've played Bond, but the films ...

From Russia With Love is the only one I really liked. Goldfinger somewhere below that, but only because the Aston Martin and its gadgets appealed to my 11 year old self!

I also think Idris Elba would have made a very credible Bond. To those who think a woman should be considered, then think again. 007 is the main asset of our security service and in a one on one fight situation where trained professionals are up against each other, the woman would not stand a chance. I wonder what would have happened if Nicola Adams had fought Marvin Hagler? Actually, I would rather not think about that.

I saw the new film last night. I loved the fact that it took things from OHMSS, my favourite Bond film.

Oh, and I loved seeing him on the Triumph Scrambler 1200, even if he did abuse it terribly!

MUCH better bike than the Tiger!!! :P:P:P:P:P;););)

Allegedly, Barbara Broccoli has said that Bond won't be a woman as long as she's in charge....
That's strange, allegedly her late father was VERY fond of women . . .

When have Bond films ever been about credibility? :D
