News: Camera found underwater after 2 years with photos intact

Vancouver artist Paul Burgoyne lost the camera in a shipwreck off Vancouver Island in 2012.

So was this due to the wonders of the lexar card or the waterproofing of the card slot in the camera? And what make of camera was it?

It's a Panasonic Lumix.

The camera and the memory card both look terrible which is no surprise after 2 years in salt water.

Unless the camera still functions then you'd have to say hat's off to the memory card as the camera obviously hasn't kept it protected.

Im not THAT surprised. Ive flooded a few cameras underwater and so far every single time the memory card has survived, one in particular was after the best part of 16 hours in salt water.

we once had a 35mm film sent in which was recovered from a modern ship wreck. There was nothing on it at all.
