As Sara said, there are a number of ways to post pictures here. Either hosting offline with Flickr, Pix.ie, Photobucket etc (completely free and all are easy to use) / through the gallery here / or uploaded directly to your thread.
If you let us know which way you're trying to do it, you'll get some more detailed help - although you may be better posting it as a spectfic question in forum support as there are usually more people viewing there
