I been asked if I will take a photo of a friends one week old baby and would like the good people of TP let me know if this sort of pose will work..
lighting was softbox at 45 camera right and window light camera left

It's a classic pose but you might need to use a spotter to hold the head to stop it falling to the side if you posing it as high as the doll. I found a rolled up towel to support the baby's arms and then tilt the head to the side so it's fully supported is best. Main thing is to get them fed well so they sleep deeply then you can wriggle the baby round to get your perfect pose!
