Hi everyone, just signed up here as I am looking to get into photography.

My names Brett, I'm from the UK and I'm looking for some advice.
I have been offered a brand new Nikon D60 pretty cheap and before I buy it I would like some opinions please.

Is it any good?
Good for beginner?
Personal thoughts if you own one.

I am passionate about photo's even though I only have a Samsung Digimax A4 at the moment (don't get me wrong I love it to pieces but now I want something a bit more... professional.)

I have taken well over 1,000 pics with the A4 and I can't knock its image quality. I just want something better.

It is a good camera, i own one myself (as a beginner too!) the only thing that does let it down is no Autofocus in the body so it requires you to manual focus or buy autofocus lenses however the next camera up (D90) is like £600 onwards so its a good budget camera. How muc have you been offered it for?

Hi, I don't think you will disappointed with a D60.

Only £250 from a family friend.

I think Im going to go for it.

Thats with the 18-55mm lens you get with the kit so i thinks its the AF VR lens??

How you found your cam so far? And pics you taken with it?? Its good knowing somebody has the same cam, means if i have any problems there is a good chance you may know whats im doing wrong :D

i love my camera,
i have a few pictures on my website
some of which are taken with a raynox dcr-250 attached (fly 2 and fly 3) take a look :) and im more than willing to help :)

You got some nice pics there mate, Can't wait - I'll ring him tomorrow and tell him I will take it lol

Good good :) just have a play first of all and see what happens  thats what i did, then started shooting on manual, and now i try my best not to use auto :)

Got my sisters wedding coming up in august so I want to be comfortable with the camera by then. Does the D60 accept 8GB sandisk cards?

Oh and I'm going to dublin for a long weekend in 3 weeks so that should be another good time to play with a few/lots of its features.
