Got my first MF 120 camera comming tommorrow, i'lve already brought some Film- HP5 and a roll of Provia 100F. Its a Bronica ETRS with all the gubbins :)

IS there anything i should be weary of the first time using it? I've never even seen a Medium Format Camera before, so i'm thinking its gunna be interesting! :)

Help?

Simon

Oh you bought it in the end! Just follow the manual, they are reasonably intuitive and although there are a few quirks in the process, just take your time (as you would with any new system) and enjoy it. Medium format is great, it's where the distinction between digital really comes in and where the real fun in film lies.

Genuine point - the black side of the film points towards the lens. It's very easy to put film backwards in a 120 camera.

Done that before :coat:

Another tip after rewinding the film, is to immediately move the empty spool to the other side to receive the new film.

once i Rewind the film, is there like a second sticky tab to close it with?

There will be a sticky tab bit, yes.
And remember to line up the arrow on the backing paper with the right dot when loading, it can be different for 120 and 220!

Yay! id i'm correct the ETRS is 6x6 so i should get 15 pictures on the film right?

It's 6X4.5cm (ETRs) for 15 shots and it would be twelve for 6X6 and 10 for 6X7.

Oh, some tabs at the end of the roll are sticky like sellotape, others need to be licked.

Ahh ok! The camera is just here, and i'm having plenty of fun without any film trying to work it, and focus and everything!

The WLF is backwards! THats really messing with my head :P

Ahh I have the grip and I am using the metering prism, but if they did a metered wlf I'd be using that!
