Hello Everyone.

I have just signed up to the forum.

I really need some help from you guys. I really want to get into photography as I dont really have any hobbies and feel this would suit me down to the ground..

anyway...

I dont have a clue when it come to photography equipment and need some guidance.

I have been looking at the following cameras and was wondering what peoples thoughts are on the following...

Nikon D40 6mp DSLR + 18-55 Lens = £299.99

Olympus E420 10mp DSLR + 14-42 Lens = £349.99

Sony Alpha 200 10mp DSLR + 18-70 Lens = £299.99

I dont want nothing too daunting with me only starting out so features galore isnt me.

Any help would be hugely appreciated,

Thanks for the reply. I only have a budget of £350 MAX so how much do the Canon 400D go for roughly 2nd hand?

I'm very tempted with the D40 TBH. Dixons have it for £225 delivered which I think is a good price.
 
Fair enough! is that body only though?
because ontop of the £225 you will be spending approx £150 on a lens.

Shaun, you can get the Oly E420 kit from Currys for £299.99, or alternatively youu can get the E410 twin kit from Currys for £299 which gets you a 40-150mm lens as well as the standard kit lens.
