Newbie - just picked up first camera

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and and photography and thanks to my wonderful husband, I've just picked up my new Nikon D80! Haven't had much time to play around with it but I love it already. I really like taking portrait shots and macro shots. Being a stay at home mum, I'm sure I'll get lots of practice with my kids. I don't have any pictures to share yet, but I hope to post some soon and get some tips and advice from you all.
