hi am from the northeast and just started out in the dslr photography, I have a sony a350 with dt18-70mm lens which i got for christmas.I want to learn portraits mainly but i know i will want to venture into other things. I have posted a thread about what kind of portable studio kit i should get i will be looking forward to any help i recieve.

I'll stop short of giving advice on a portable set up - not my area just yet. (Have a basic system, but it's not great.) I'm sure you'll get no end of advice before long. Prepare to be dazzled......
