Newbie here, need information please!

Hey all, well I'm new to the whole photography lark and just bought a new camera called the: Panasonic DMC-FZ18, and was wondering if people could tell me a bit about it? is it a good buy for a beginner? etc. Thanks

I got mine as a first semi-decent camera and I'm very pleased with it. There are plenty of functions to play with and it's not too bulky to fit in a pocket. I still use mine loads, sometimes in preference to my 550D. Shove it on 'P' setting, read the manual (maybe not all of it) and shoot loads of pics.

As you have already bought it, what are your options if someone says it's a crap camera for a beginner?

Welcome to the forum. I don't know that particular camera but the best way to learn is get out and take lots of photos! Post some on here in the relevant forums for feedback and critique then go and take some more. Enjoy your new camera!
