Hi all.
I have been looking around for a good forum to learn about photography and this one seemed the best option, so here I am.
I'm 25 and, as the title suggests, live in Scotland. I am extremely new to photography on any level. I've only ever used phones and small personal cameras (£70 max) to take snaps of holidays, events, social activites etc, so I really have no idea with what I'm doing with my new toy.
For Christmas my other half and I decided we wanted a "better" camera for taking to Florida this year, along with other events such as birthdays, weddings etc. As it was Christmas, there was a lot of offers on, but one in particular caught our eye in Jessops (Sad that they're gone now, they were ever so helpful).
The deal was: Buy a Samsung NX1000, recieve £50 cashback on a prepaid credit card (Yet to recieve) and also get a FREE Samsung Tab 2. I already have a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet, so sticking with Samsung seemed like a great idea, plus it meant my other half could have the Tablet. Altogether for the lens protectors, bag and goodies, it came to £505. A lot of money for us, but we felt we'd like to treat ourselves.
So far, we have taken a lot of pictures, but only using "Smart" mode. This mode basically does everything for you to get a good picture. This is my best and favourite so far:
My cat Smudge.
(Unedited on any software......told you I was a novice. I just love the clarity and detail captured).
I would love to learn how to use the camera properly, which is why I am here. I don't know if any body has any knowledge of this camera or if anyone here owns one, but any advice is welcome. I am also looking to get new lenses in time for going to Florida, but again, I know nothing about them. Sorry for my lack of knowledge.
