Hi folks, just a little post to introduce myself! Name's Dave, and I'm a PhD student in Physics and have just very recently bought myself a Nikon D90 as a treat to myself with the aim of learning photogrpahy - so thought this forum would be an ideal place to join after I was pointed across to it from another forum I regularly frequent (which has nothing to do with photography, its about detailing cars which is my expertise!)
Got myself what are to me the odd decent photograph in the past with my very first digital camera. Later upgraded to a Fuji Finepix S5700 and that got me a taste of photography as I started to play around with settings and manual mode, and had a go at some closeups... will post some at some point when I have a chance to resize them to 800x600.
Spurred on by seeming to get a few nice pics, and really enjoying taking the pictures, I decided to bite the bullet and treat myself to a nice SLR and learn photography to try and move on a bit from the typical point and click photography which I've been doing till now... so Nikon D90, and a huge learning curve ahead of me which I've started with a couple of initial pics.
I have a particular liking for sunsets (dont we all?) are landscapes, and also close up pictures of flowers of which I have many!
Looking forward to being part of the community.
