Hi

I have a lastolite and a couple of d lite heads. 1 on the softbox and one in the hilite. Im just not getting it right in the camera and having to play around in lightroom to blow out the background. I would appreciate your comments settings are f11 250 sp and the lightmeter is showing f11 in the middle of the hilite.

1. use a lens hood and flag your lights (that will counteract the lens flare)
2. move the subject (much further) away from the background
3. dont introduce the subject until the background is lit right
4. treat lighting the subject and the background separately
5. Aim to be exposing your subject at your lenses sharpest (f8 is a good starting point)

It looks like you are working in a very cramped space, and that isnt helping you

here is a practical guide http://www.zarias.com/white-seamless-tutorial-part-1-gear-space/ - other photographers have a different approach
