Hello!

I'm excited to be a part of this community and to start my journey with my camera! (Nikon D3200 - probs a newb piece of kit but it's doing the job for now!)

The most resonating piece of advice i have been given is: the first 100 photos i take are going to be rubbish - so get over that and just snap and snap and read up and focus on getting better with photo composition and to know my camera etc. - but what advice to do you guys have that you think will help me get started? :)

To give you a bit of background - i am an academic type and i have never really ventured into anything creative before, so this is my first leap! I am literally staring from the beginning - i didn't have any idea what shutter speed and aperture meant until about a day ago, and am just learning about photo composition and experimenting with photo editing.

Thanks :)

Hi and welcome - I'm new here too. A forum like this is a great source of learning and Mike Browne Photography on YouTube is worth a search.

I still have the first photograph I took (back in 1968 I think it was) :) It's a great hobby/interest.
