Evening guys,

I've been looking into purchasing a camera, preferably a DSLR, however a "bridge" would be acceptable if it can do what I want.

I am however, unsure of what to get. I have a budget of around £200 - I don't mind going second hand if it's essential to get the right camera.

I have a soft spot for DOF stuff, since playing with a friends 40D (I think this was the model) - IIRC the DOF stuff was done by selecting tiny little orange lights dotted around the viewfinder - great fun, and some stunning results. DOF stuff is definitely a requirement.

Obviously, this isn't just what I want the camera for, the main idea is to learn about photography too.

What would you recommend?

I'd need a lens for that presumably? Am I likely to get much more than the ~55mm that most get bundled with for the remaining £40 of my budget?
