Yes
i have ordered a canon 10-22 lens + hood, but am unsure as to which circular polariser to buy. There seems to be too many options when searching the net, especially regarding the vignetting issues on wide lens.

So could anyone here offer a solution and still allow the use of the lens hood

Many thanks

:)

You need to buy a filter that will fit the thread on the front of the lens. A quick look on Canon's site shows it to be a 77mm item. The hood should still allow you to spin the filter. I can spin the circ pol on both my 17-40 and the 70-200 with the hoods fitted.

hth :)

At 10mm you'l be lucky to get away with no vignetting (even without a filter).

Do some reasearch and buy the thinnest filter you can get.
Hoya pro-digital tend to be thin.

Cheaper filters are thicker and will display more vignetting

the 10-22 is an ef-s lens which can only be used on a small sensor, so the cropping effect should almost remove any vignetting. Even if it does get a little, CS2 can correct it with a great deal of success :)

they should both be fine and will require little more than a finger pressed against the edge of the filter to rotate it even with the hood on.

Marumi DHG CPLs are very thin indeed, around 2mm orso when screwed on fully. I have 2 now and find them really good indeed.
