Thank you! I bought a sigma 10-20 specifically to go out there, the only other lens I took was a sigma 30, the only time I could have done with the reach was on the ferry to get a better shot of the statue of liberty.

I bought a small konig tripod which I ended up forgetting to take out, but managed without it, after dark on top of the rock would be the only time I needed it or maybe at grand central terminal, but there are plenty of places to rest the camera at both locations

I wish I had some spare cash floating around and I'd buy one, but I've got to save up so I've got some spending money! I'll have my 50mm f1.8 and my kit lens. But nothing wide, or overly sharp!

Theyre quite strict about the top of the rock tripods. I thought I may get away with a gorillapod if I'm lucky! Aslong as the resting places are pretty good I should get some nice long exposures well?

You lucky sod! It's one of my aims in life to go to New York at some point.. hopefully next year, without the kids in tow!!!

I really should be saving up for a deposit on a house, but £25k just to have a 1 bed flat seems like so much effort!

I'm heading out in two weeks and leaving the camera at home to enjoy a holiday, never had a non working trip abroad so the phone camera will have to suffice for snap shots.
