Sorry folks, have been tied up with my cat. Not Melton though, it was my other cat Beanie, he was nearly 15 and unfortunately we lost him on Sat. It was pretty sudden really so I am still coming to terms with it. Pretty heartbroken if I am honest. Hence no update. I have been taking the shots just haven't uploaded em yet.

Funny thing this weeks theme is Animals...hum....

Well I will try and get my shots up tonight.

Cheers

Roo

So sorry to hear that Roo, always sad to lose a pet.. take care x

Hi folks, thanks for the wishes, it has been a very difficult time, but we are getting there, we have the crazy Melton to keep occupied!

Onwards.....

Day 31

Didn't feel like taking photos today. I was dragged out on a 40 degree day to get me out of the house, so here is one of about 10 shots I took....really not into it! But the last day of Bright!

Thanks Folks, have been finding it really difficult to get motivated this week. Esp as my theme is animals! Have some shots will get them up at some point. Am going to get that shot of Beanie made into a canvas. I have another as well so I may do both.

May go to the Zoo again this weekend for some inspiration.....

Day 33

I started today with some plastic ducks, but this ended up coming out better...oh well. I think Melton will be a big feature of my 365 now!

I'm so sorry to hear about Beanie. I hope you're feeling better now...

Day 33 shot is outstanding, I just absolutely love it... Fantastic and very 'out of the box' thinking with the framing, and as for the clarity and colour in Meltons eyes, well, it's perfect. That shot is really spot on for me!

34, the chess shot is lovely. i like the lighting and the colours...

35, beautiful shot of melton, good focus on the eyes, nice dof...

for what its worth, sorry to hear about beanie, its always difficult losing a pet. when they are old its almost like they have always been there...i lost my old greyhound last may, he died in his sleep, no illness, it was a real shock. he left such a gap in my life.
but we now have charley who has just turned 9 months old, he will never replace skodie but he is a wonderful new friend...

i feel for you...

Thanks everyone, it has been a very difficult week and I am glad it is coming to an end.

Beanie went in for a endoscopy on Monday last week to look at his throat as he had some mild breathing difficulties, on Wed morning he woke us up choking, we rushed him to the emergancy vets, which is only 5 mins from our house, he seemed to be getting better, but suddenly went downhill on Sat. We had to make the call that there wasn't anything we could do. We were with him. We buried him last night and said our goodbyes. It was very sad. We miss him lots.

We got Melton 2.5 years ago so we still have him and we are trying to keep him entertained as he isn't used to being alone. We got him from a shelter as a kitten and he was very very scaredy. He is a lot better now, but doesn't like change or anything usual.

He has been helping us through and we have to keep reminding ourselves Beanie had a great life and moved with us from the UK. You just keep expecting them to appear. I feel a bit better now that he is home and laid to rest in piece.

Thanks for all the support, you think no-one will understand but it seems that most people have been through it and do.

Roo

33 is great i wish my cat would sit as still lol,

i cant imagine how you are feeling right now mate, at least you can always think of the good times and know that you provided a loving home for your little puss

Would you believe I was taking some shots of rubber ducks on the floor and as I leant back he was there! Took that off the cuff....got two shots...one was rubbish and that one!

Thanks I think it is pretty good too! :)

Roo

I love 33, like where he is in the frame, very photogenic puss!

the lighting and wood tones on the chess set are fab :)

Day 36.

A friendly Possum in Williamstown! What a nightmare....it was pitch black and my focussing light wouldn't work....didn't realise that it didn't work when the camera is set to continuous....anyhow got one shot!

(Mechanical is the theme this week!)

same here.. like its position in the frame.. great capture!

the lion is magnicifent..

Thanks folks, those possums come out every night and like to be fed apple! There was one with a baby on it is back, but I missed that! Oh well!

Would you believe that Lion was only about 50cm from me....behind some glass. They have this cool display where there is a land rover cut through by glass, so half is outside so you can sit on it, and the bonnet etc is in the enclsure....but you can get right up to the glass.

Roo

Thanks for the comment Ian, it was pretty special to be so close!

Next Theme is Mechanical....this is harder than I thought it would be!

Dropped my 18-200 VR onto the garage floor on the way home after that...works ok...very lucky!

Roo

Thanks Bri....wish I could have got the whole thing in, but it was too hard with the fence, road, trucks...and I would have lost the detail...Hoping this week I will get my inspiration back!

Roo
