New website

The site doesnt really work for me

- the textured images

The following distract form the images

- the distracting top bar
- the blocky menu text
- the double top bar in a slideshow
- the watermarks
- the scrolling typewriter text thing

Looks great, though having to scroll down to see the rest of every photo is a little annoying on a widescreen display at 1,280x800px. Portrait images at 1,024px tall are a little on the large size as most people are only using 1,024x768px on their monitor. It would also save on bandwith if your reduced the sizes a little.

WELCOME.
I agree with the above and its just not smooth enough, I see you have only one post, so if you are sticking around, then i am sure you will see plenty of C C.

No idea why you posted it in this section but fwiw;
The site is very slick-looking but a bit overpowering.
The Moire pattern on the slideshow images is really annoying.
I have a 22" monitor and I have to scroll down on some of your portrait orientation images so as already said, they need to be reduced in size.
Also as said, the typewriter-style name at the top is a bit annoying too, I'd prefer to see a more subtle static name.
Some great images though.

The site runs well on an iPad.
Glad to see some 'hometown' photos of Manchester.

I like the website but there are a few things I'd do to it.

The grid system you have going on is too dark, can you lighten that?
Also add more interaction to your website - its just two buttons and no clear direction where you want people to go.

Look at adding Add-this which is a free social bookmarking plugin that allows users to engage with your photos.
Maybe look to adding some content with links to your gallery pages in it?
Also it's good to make sure your phone number or email is at least on every page.

Visually good, from a UI perspective, not so good - had to click about six links to get to your first picture set - how about some content?
