New Website your thoughts please guys

The Flickr, Twitter and Facebook logos are to large, in your face sort of thing. Apart from that I like it, well done

Tim

really clear, simple and well layed out. works well for me.

one thing i dont like is the grey background. it reminds me of naff wallpaper
Al

Thanks for the feedback guys. I know what u mean about the flickr / facebook logos but that was kinda my point to put it in peoples faces but i can understand what u mean.

I love naff wallpaper lol only messing thanks for the feedback :D

The links at the top aren't displaying properly in firefox for me, although they are fine in Chrome. The letters are too bunched up and it makes it hard to read.

Using simpleviewer flash browsers?

Nice site over all :)

thats interesting what version of firefox u using? it seemed fine on mine earlyer im sure i tested it.

no im using java jquery scrip gallery there is no flash on the site at all i made a effort not to use it to save load up time.

version 3.0.13

Portfolio and About are slightly squashed, its not something major and tbh, some people may not even notice.

i was waiting for some one to pick up on that! lol i know what u mean it was the only one i had of me not in the pub or in the sea. I think il work on a new one this week ***.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox on Windows XP and the letters are compressed for me too.

Nice layout, but you need to run it through the HTML validator at http://validator.w3.org/ as you have a few errors...

Like the site but copywrite your work

*You could easily find .pngs of the logos with a google search :)

*Pop in a comma
My passion is shown in the images I produce (comma or and) I am a true believer in the saying a picture speaks a thousand words.

*Your address seems rather long and difficult to remember, maybe purchase a second one, so that you can give it out? (you can have both I believe) I opted to not go for www.thecameraneverlies.co.uk for the shorter www.tcnl.co.uk instead (its loads easier to give out :)

*Maybe try to use one uniform font on headers, buttons and text?

*Please don't think I'm ripping it apart, I am really nit picking!
The site is accessible and puts your images at the top of the agenda, which is the way it should be!

Site looks good, I can see you've sorted some of the comments that people have already noted.

One thing I'd mention is the grammar in your blog. I know that blogs are meant to be informal, but personally I don't feel that you can get away with that on a professional website. Your photography is excellent, but it's important to give of a professional image throughout...

My plan is simple i wish to show you my journy threw the world of photography.

Anyway lets kick off with a few photos from a recent shoot i did for Dyllan and Rio (the babys). I was contacted threw my facebook page asking if i could take a few photos of there children. And of course i said i would. I went about thinking of ideas and concepts, the original idea was to do the shoot outside in a lovely park we have in the Swansea / gower area. My idea was to bring the green of the grass out and show them in a natural situation but sadly we haven’t had much of a summer in the UK this year :( . So the plan changed last minute and i went about setting up a basic studio in my house.

I've highlighted the areas that stand out to me. Please don't take it as an insult - it's something that can be fixed really easily and will help your initial impression - after all some people won't meet you until they've arranged the shoot through your website.

If you're unsure on the wording, I'm sure you'll have a friend that could double check it for the price of a pint!

Good luck!

Love the site, well done!

My only crit would be (and I apologise in advance because I don't want to offend anyone by stereotyping etc.) but you should change your self portrait as you look very threatening/intimidating and I would have hired you upto that, but was really put off for reasons mentioned.

Fine on my firefox too which is latest version on vista :)

Oh and I agree on the self portrait - wouldn't stop me hiring you but someone gotta be able to make you look less fearsome :lol:

Sorry if I'm repeating other people here.

Impressions, fantastic website. Really clean, crisp, simple, and easy to use. Looks great for the most part, too.

Negs:
-Only 13 photos in your portfolio? More please. Just my opinion.
-Navigation buttons look seriously naff. Change to text only or re-think the buttons. Plain block gradients just look terrible.
-Facebook, Twitter and Myspace logos are way, way too big.

I think most things have already been said, the only issue that I have is the CSS for your <p> tags, you have the letter spacing set to -1px; that to me, makes the text look a bit strange and slightly harder to read.

Obviously its a personal thing, but i don't think I have seen it anywhere else.

I would maybe consider changing the <p> style to something like:

}
p, li, .feedback {
font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
line-height:21px;

}

Looking at the blog, I would also add padding to the individual .alignleft .alignright image classes just to give them a bit of breathing space from the text.

Other than that, looks good :)

Here's my two penneth...

Agree with the logo (flikr..facebook etc..) Would put them smaller and centre, AFTER the copyright...... which might I add needs centering... IMO.

Given the background, I would use the B&W of the little girl as my first pic and not the one we see currently.

Other than that, love the layout and the images aren't bad either.

good stuff.

i'm just learning about websites, so my coments are minimal, but i like it.

simple and effective.

One thing that jumped out at me was that the portfolio section and the slideshow on the homepage show the same pictures. I'd like to see a few more.
