Yes
My website was very basic for the last 3 years and you could not buy online. Also it compressed the photos and reduced the resolution considerably.

After trying SmugMug and a few others I liked Zenfolio the most.

On Sunday I pointed the new site to my URL and within the first hour I sold a photo already!

So what do you think, is it any good and have many of you got any good or bad Zenfolio experiences?

Hi Riki, without being a party pooper, i think you need to read section 6, 7 and 8 of the RFU's terms and condition for accredited photographers

6. USE, PUBLICATION & DISTRIBUTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS & EDITORIAL TEXT
REPORTS

6.1 The Company shall only be entitled to
(a) Publish Photographs and/or Editorial Text Reports for editorial/news reporting
purposes in its own Listed Publications; and

(b) Distribute Photographs and/or Editorial Text Reports for publication by its
Customers for editorial/news reporting purposes.

6.2 The Company shall

(a) itself (and shall inform and require its Customers to) comply with the provisions
relating to use and Publication of Photographs and/or Editorial Text Reports
(including, but not limited to the General Conditions of Use) as set out in this
Agreement.

(b) prior to (or accompanying) the Distribution of Photographs and Editorial Text
Reports to Customers incorporate (by means of notification in writing including
notification on the Company’s website) the General Conditions of Use to the
Company’s own agreement terms with its Customers.

6.3 The Company shall not authorise, knowingly permit or knowingly assist any Customer to
Wholesale/Syndicate any Photographs and/or Editorial Text Reports.

7. GENERAL CONDITIONS OF USE

7.1 The Company shall not itself (nor authorise or permit any third party to) use or Publish
Photographs and/or Editorial Text Reports for commercial purposes without the prior written
consent of Premiership Rugby and may involve the payment of a fee. For the avoidance of
doubt and by way of example and not limitation "commercial purposes" shall include use or
Publication in connection with Single Club Publications, advertising or marketing, items of
clothing, posters, calendars, collectables, premiums or any other commemorative item or item
of memorabilia.

7.2 Photographs shall not be altered or manipulated by means other than 'flipping', 'cropping'
(PROVIDED THAT the same is performed in good faith and not so as to distort the
meaning or the circumstances depicted in the Photographs), manipulation which is evidently
fun, harmless and an editorial means of telling a story, standard computerised 'enhancement'
in the form of minor alterations. For the avoidance of doubt, and by way of example and not
limitation, the Photographs shall not be manipulated or otherwise altered so as to obscure or
remove a sponsor's name or logo otherwise than as an ancillary consequence of good faith
‘cropping’.

7.3 Photographs shall not be used in a manner that is, imitates or suggests moving images.

7.4 Photographs may not be used for any Photosale without the prior written approval of the
relevant Club(s) that feature in the applicable Photograph.

7.5 Any item containing Photograph(s) and/or Editorial Text Report(s) shall not be structured,
offered, titled, described or promoted in a manner that claims or suggests any endorsement,
authorisation or approval by any Club(s), Player or Premiership Rugby where no such
endorsement exists.

7.6 The Company shall not use or reproduce any trade mark, badge, insignia or logo owned or
utilised by Premiership Rugby or a Club without the prior written consent of the appropriate
owner.

7.7 Every use or Publication of a Photograph shall be attributed to the Authorised Representative
that took the applicable Photograph and/or the Company.

7.8 As soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within 7 days of receiving a request from
Premiership Rugby, the Company shall confirm in writing whether an entity that is using
and/or Reproducing Photographs and/or Editorial Text is a Customer.

8. SUPPLY OF PHOTOGRAPHS TO CLUBS & PREMIERSHIP RUGBY

8.1 Subject to the payment of a reasonable handling fee, the Company shall permit and/or
procure access to, sight of, or a print of, any Photograph promptly upon receipt of a written
request from Premiership Rugby or any Club. Such right of access to the Photographs does
not imply any right of reproduction and there is no obligation on the Company and/or the
Authorised Representative(s) to preserve the Photographs.

Basically it means youre not allowed to sell or distribute to anyone other than the Media without prior permission from the RFU

If the RFU find you openly selling they will string you up mate and you will lose your accreditation, even if youre a club photographer, if you haven't got accreditation then get it.

Those were part of the terms i agreed to last season, if anything has changed this season then i haven't received notification (quite possible) but i did have to accept those terms when i covered Leeds v Plymouth this season

I am a bit confused, I have not shot Premiership Rugby, I have only shot one Champiomship game and the rest are B&I cup?

It seems the terms only mention premiership?

I have taken these photos off sale anyway.

you may be right a quick call to the RFU would put you straight, but your not alone i see many sites with footy pic on them where they were taken on somebody else's dataco aggrement

My conference football photos are not for sale.

I have taken down the sale option for the championship rugby and B&I cup games while I clear this up, you can view but not buy them now. I have never been asked to sign a licence and the only thing I can find are for internationals and certain finals http://www.rfu.com/abouttherfu/pressaccreditation

I also have seen lots of other championship rugby photographers who are selling photos on their sites, a few of them are also selling prints of premiership games, very confused now.

I have emailed the RFU anyway. Will see what they say!

Theres a lot of people doing a lot of things wiht licenced photos which nobody seems to be controlling.... I am talking all types of sports...

No reply from the RFU yet..... Just to be clear I didn't sell one of the Photos in question to a member of public, they were only briefly at the setting which someone could, they are only able to be purchase under a media use licence now until clarification is received.

But yes Kipax I agree, I have found many after looming yesterday selling rfu championship photos to anyone and a lot selling rfu premiership ones also. I also found people selling conference photos to public which according to my licence I didn't think you could do and even some people selling football league photos to public.
