Since September 2006 I have had a very basic and rubbish website that I build myself but now with the help of a fellow photographer I now have a proper website.

here it is http://www.mullrallyesport.co.uk

I would like your comments on the new site.

Also I would like to know to create an rss feed for the site or how to add rss feeds from other site to mine?

Thanks
Ross

It has all the information you wish to convey, it`s just to me it`s not very inspiring. I don`t and never have made a web page, so this is just personal opinion of course.

It`s mainly to do with the layout and the fonts used. The "rally" page is alright though. I do apologise if this isn`t a particuarly in depth citique!

You have a headline "Amateur Photographer", assuming you mean yourself and not the magazine, you go on to offer your services and quote prices. The two don't go together well, prospective clients will not be keen to employ an amateur. I think I'd lose that headline.

Steeps got a good point :) I like the layout actually, way better than the last one

Ok good point, would it be better to change that to freelance photographer?

Prices are only away of letting competitors know the costs of printing instead of me having to reply to loads of emails telling people what sizes I can get prints for and at what price.

well laid out and informative. REALY NICE pics. i love the 6R4 , but personaly i,m not keen on the white text/black background.sorry but thats my personal opinion.
other than that, great site.

Thanks for your opinion. What colours do you suggest as I left them the same as the template I got because I couldn't decide on any other colours.

Found one spelling mistake on information page.

So far Mullrallyesport has had images and reports printed in a few local publications (Oban Times and Am Muileach), signed on as a media person with AML Photography on the 2007 Tunnocks Tour of Mull and can in the top 10 of the 2007 Motorsport News Photography Competition.

I presume you meant came.

Looks good generally.

Hi Ross. :) I'm a big fan of rally sport, and I'll be honest here with my comments.

As soon as the page opened, the black and white appealed to me straight away.

As the eye naturally tends to view any type or form of display from left to right, I felt that this has really worked with your title, as you've placed it offset to the left, whilst displaying a small image of one of the cars. For me this really works well. I apply a similar rule with my artwork, when using journalling and images.

The bigger image to the right looks good to me too.

The only slightly negative point I would mention, would refer to the rally dates at the bottom. I wonder if they would look better placed to the right of the bigger image, (if room), or maybe placed somewhere else.....? Not a big criticism, just something I felt didn't look right at the bottom.

I think with a bit of tweaking here and there, you have the makings of a very good website for your future photography needs. The black and white works very well.

Thank you for your comments. Might fiddle with the homepage but I don't want to change it much. At the moment I am trying to keep the site simple so I have little maintenance to do on it hence the dates are at the bottom of a table so I can add new ones above the current ones.

Nice one matey

Thank you.

I have now changed the picture on the right hand side of the homepage, it was this http://www.mullrallyesport.co.uk/images/homepic.jpg. If anyone can think of any of my pictures that would be better for that space please let me know as I just can't make my mind up.

Also any more help with what colours to use on the site or if to keep the black and white the way to go?
