I see Tokina have created a new version of their superb lens. Hopefully they haven't screwed it up like Tamron did to their 17-50 when they added VC and changed the optics.

They have added a motor ,a coating and an aspherical element. Nikon mount released first then Canon.

Good that all Nikon's will now be able to AF with the lens. Hopefully the price wont be too restrictive and it will be as sharp if not sharper than the original.

It's a great lens to own- lots of flexibility to your shots with it.

I'm after the current 11-16 and nobody seems to be selling these atm. Hopefully this might cause a few to sell on if the price isn't too crazy

Do you mean second hand or new? You don't see many second hand as most who buy seem to hang onto them even if they aren't used that often- it's a measure of how good they are. Like all things they are a bit pricier these days- I'm sure mine was something like £310-30 new- awesome:). You may well get some April/May as I know a couple(which means there are likely many more) who use MF on the D60 and D3000 and are the sort who could be tempted.

i'm in the same boat, Jacob!

Its a good sign when there are none of a lens in the 2nd hand market, shows its great glass... not so helpful if you're the buyer though ;)

will be watching this release very closely. Lets hope they do it right! (and not a repeat of the 17-50 VC)

I too after this lens  I am putting everything on hold until I buy this one.
