Just got a steal for my panasonic G9ii. depending on age there is a firmware update if I need it so it can be used on a pana G9ii

Panasonic LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT 35-100mm f/2.8 Power O.I.S. Lens [Near Mint] for £597
over here new £1000

any risk involved buying on ebay from Japan? there is always risk , but having bought from Japan before I find they are more honest than many other countries.
when described a near mint you would be hard pressed to be able to tell the difference from new. Seller has a 99.9% rating on ebay

Isn't this for the full frame Panny's rarther than your m4/3 G9ii?
Buying from abroad on Ebay incurs VAT and Import tax and Courier's fee and anything else they think they can slap on, dosn't it?

£859 on MPB ("Like new") so you'll probably come out OK. If you get hit with duty I think it's under 5%, then there's VAT on the whole lot and a handling fee.

I've been pricing up some items I want, and have found that while the Japanese sellers are usually good, looking at feedback, their prices are generally just a bit under what you might find in the UK when the extra charges are accounted for.

Alongside the Lumix DC G9 II, Panasonic has unveiled a pair of new Micro Four Thirds lenses: the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 35-100mm F2.8 Power O.I.S. and the Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm F4.0-6.3 II ASPH. Power O.I.S. These two lenses are revised and updated versions of existing models with additional features.

(H-ES35100) Micro Four Thirds Lens H-ES35100E. This lens offers F2. 8 brightness throughout the zoom range and a wide focal length range of 35-100m (35mm camera equivalent: 70-200mm) in a compact and lightweight design.

I did check first and ebay add vat to the price I believe

Free delivery but possible import tax

Never had any problem buying from Japan before

when UK retailers are chargingup to £1108 this is a bargain. All my gear is fully insured and my local repair firm have repaired an imort for me before

I can't tell the difference between new and this advertised as Near mint lens. only givaway as it had the previous lens firmware which I have updated. also no box either which is what marked it down I think

Good to hear it worked out, although I would not have been worried. Were you stung with much in the way of extra charges?

John
Import and VAT worked out at £132 the lens sold for around £600. Total being £732. Here in the UK retails for £1000/1100 new. I had Fedex doing it for me and what they charged included

You did come out OK :) Even dealer stock could have out of date firmware.
