I've been messing around with film recently, for the first time since college. Mainly with an ultra-fashionable, yet very Marmite Holga.

I was discussing it with my supervisor the other day, and she mentioned that her boyfriend had a box full of old cameras in the loft, left to him when his dad died years ago. Anyhoo, she brought them in for me to play with.

No idea what to do with the movie camera, but I'm currently playing with the Olympus OM-10 (rear left), and Kodak Retina (front right). The Ricoh 500 G (front, second from right) is sadly dead and gone, with a broken shutter. Looking forward to playing with the Coronet (rear right), once I get some 120, and I've not even begun to look at the Frankarette (dead centre).

All good fun. Shame I don't get to keep them. I'm sort of testing them out to see if they're worth putting on Ebay.

By the way, I know pretty much nothing about these cameras, so please don't ask anything too technical. Hoping to get some results posted up soon. Just FYI.

The meter is a Leningrad, a contraption of the USSR. The one I have is actually quite accurate!

I've not really looked at that yet either. There's a load more stuff in the box too, but most of it is very dated lighting stuff. Nothing I'm that interested in.

The Retina should be fun.. very solid feel, tactile action, I have a 1a and it's a great walkabout camera.

It's gorgeous to use. Really tactile, and I love the weight of it in the hand. It feels really solid. The mechanism of the folding lens, and the shutter release, are a little bit feeble now, but still fully-functional. Hopefully I'll get some good results with it. I might turn my back on digital at this rate.

(I've just realised I've stolen two of your adjectives without noticing. Perfect descriptions though, so not too surprising).
