errr cough hmm a Benro A300F and a piece of rubbish that has already failed 3 times with problems redsnapper.

think i need to sell a few bits to fund something more solid.
 
I am completely uneducated on what is a good tripod and what is not! I like the idea of monopods, but i guess if you're sitting around for a long time then it's not so good!! I hope you can find something decent. I've seen the costs for the hamertone type ones and it can be pretty scary.
 
Have to say I've often wondered if it's worth putting a bit of black tape over the bright white "Cannon" logo on the front of my camera, may be over the hot-shoe mount as well. Seems to make all that camo a bit redundant otherwise?
 
oh i dunno.. not come across any wildlife that can read yet :P . in truth though you get white in nature too so i wouldnt think its to much of an issue especially when shooting from any distance. . think theres bigger risk from sun reflecting off the front of the lens and causing "flashes" hence why a deep lens hood essential.
 
just need to get me a ghillie suit now and go sit out by some weeded river banks and catch me a kingfisher!
 
Think you will need to do some weight training as well to handle that beast!
