I have been given this on semi-permanent loan by my father:

The idea is that you put your expensive, fragile and delicate SLR on the top and hoist it up. From there you can snap away and control the camera using a 360 degree remote pan/tilt platform.

You can then turn this:

into this:

Although the above were just taken in my back garden I want to offer this service to estate agents and offer them some difficult to achieve images for their marketing brochures.

Or to spy on your neighbours :D

Seriously, how stable is it? Look impressive

Hmm, looks impressive!!

As Kevin asks, how stable is it?

I want one.

I could check out my gutters.

Seems pretty stable. There are pegs and also guy ropes that can be used to help.

Only thing you can't do (using EOS Utility) is to zoom in and out. Live view lets you compose/focus the shot. You can also, compose using live view, take the shot (let the camera focus) and switch back to live view to recompose.

I've had one about 2 years, but couldn't find time to get an erection. Pan & tilt head too, must get it out the garage.

Must....resist..... must..... resist.... :D

There is a guy over here in Guernsey that does these sorts of pics, he has some amazing gear and gets some fantastic shots with it.

Goos luck with your venture

If you were to get a motorized zoom bridge, then if you could get the controls to work, you could zoom as well. May lose some quality though.

Had one for a couple of years. Put it on here for sale a few days ago actually.

One drawback in the UK is the weather, mine is 15 metres and attaches to a tow bar mount as well as being freestanding, still wouldn`t like to send it up when it`s too windy though. No problem if the job is not time sensitive, problem with EA`s is they will want the photos tomorrow and you may not have the weather for 3 weeks.

I use a Canon pro shot 1 rather than a DSLR, can control everything including zoom from the ground, don`t think there are many people using DSLR`s for this type of work.

Couldn't find the time or couldn't find the strength for one... LMAO!! :D

I just knew someone would bite :)

Gonna wait for the general erection :D

I have thought about this, but the quality from a 40d with a 24-70L is going to be a bit of a selling point once the see the difference. For a top end property with a full size A4 shot it would make a big difference.

Although I don't want to really test the weather proofing too much !

:clap:saw one last year at amsterdam marathon taking shots of the runners as they were coming out of the start used a remote to a nikon d40
