Hey guys,

I'm chris from grantham, Lincs.

Recently purchased a canon 50d and have been reading the forums for a while. Looking to learn as much from the community as I can, and hopefully start taking some really good photos.

Where does the canon 50d stand in today's world of cameras? Still a good semi pro camera or has time relegated it to an amateur/hobbyist body? What limitations do I have until firstly I get better then the camera?

Am very critical of myself so anything I post feel free to go crazy I am sure I will still carry on posting lol

The 50D is an older camera, I believe launched in 2008/9. But although technology and camera design have moved on a great deal, there is no reason you can't get very fine images from the camera.

Hi Chris and a warm welcome to TP. I've still got my 40D and am very happy with it and still use it on occasions...

Am certain I will like it here as long as CC given. Always strive to do my best at anything so just want to improve constantly.
