hi everyone, i have had a few point and shoot cameras before but as the kids get more mobile i always found myself missing the important shot so i have ventured into the world of dslr, i have a sony a390 with a 3.5-5.6 / 18-55 sam and a 4-5.6 / 55-200 sam (not sure what all that means i just know one zooms further than the other, i also have photoshop cs5. i have read a book called dslr's for begginers but it was all a bit confusing and with a book you cant ask questions so i thought i would join this forum as it looks alot like the vectra forum im on.
i have had some good results from my new camera but am alwasy looking to improve so i really dont mind constructive critasism to help me progress

Hi Steve and welcome to TP you have joined the right forum for tips and advice .
One quick thing though 800 pixels is the max for pictures ( Helps them stay on the page and load quicker ), I have a wide screen lappy so it does not bother me , on the bottom pic I would have feathered the edge by 1 or 2 pixels on the lolly pop to make it not as sharp otherwise nice pics
