Hi,

As per the thread title, I'm quite new to OFC and having just upgraded my camera and added another lens I will be on a tight budget for the moment. I've already got some Yongnuo RF-603's and a single YN-460ii speedlight, but was looking to add a few more "cheap" flashes just to try a few techniques out.

Anyway, my question was; Can I use pretty any much any flash with the Yongnuo RF-603's ie buying a cheap random flash from eBay eg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vivitar-6...ashUnits_JN&hash=item1e6eb48467#ht_500wt_1202, or do they have to be suitable for digital camera (I know older flashes can often be a different voltage).

Or do I just get a few more YN-460's and forgo a night on the ale

Thank in advance,

Jonathan

Buy more YN-460II's. They're great guns.

Any major benefit of the II's over the 460? Not a major cost difference in them but enough to get me a few light stands and umbrella's etc.

Yongnuo have a stupid unpronouncable and un-spellable name, and virtually no marketing in the UK, so a lot of people may regard them as cheap Chinese tat - but they are in fact excellent, and hard to beat.

In China, they are a massive Company growing at an unbelievable rate. That should tell us something:)

Thanks guys, some YN-460II's it is then! Should see me good for some practice etc.

I've just bought a secondhand 460ii and am very impressed with it. Such an easy simple product to use. In fact I'd prefer to use this than my Metz as an OCF.

Does anyone know what the recycling times are like compared to the main brand ones?

Cheers, much appreciated.
