Hi all,

I just got yongnuo 622N triggers for my YN568EX flash and with little or no fiddling with buttons I can get it to work ittl. However, and maybe this applies to all flash triggers on a budget, when I take a shot, the flash takes ages to be ready again for the next shot. So sometimes I get two shots in fairly quick succession but then the little pilot light on the flash turns green and won't work again until it turns red. I sometimes have to wait up to 5 seconds! Is this normal?? The user manual is poorly translated from Chinese and I can't follow it.

Thanks!

J

I can't see why it would take longer on the triggers as opposed to on the hot shoe of the camera, surely it's standard recycle time? I have this flash (EXII Canon version, only difference as far as I'm aware is that it can act as a master) and it recycles in about three seconds (which seems right, given the specs listed here).

I assume it recycles quicker when attached to the camera?

I have the Canon version of the triggers arriving soon (maybe tomorrow), so if you don't have a response I might be able to test.

It doesn't sound abnormal. Just like the flash is recycling normally - are you using full power?

Hi again,

It does recycle quicker when on camera, yeah. Maybe in about 1 to 1.5 seconds. Yes, I am using full power. Well it is just normal then. I am new to this as I said, so I didn't know what to expect.

Recycle time will be the same off-camera as on-camera, at the same power setting. Five secs sounds about right at full power with slightly used batteries, though some battery types recycle a bit faster than others. Most people use Sanyo Eneloop rechargeables.
