New to film - help?

Well I'm not interested but Canon FD can use older Nikon lens:-

...and things I didn't know:-
Tired of the your Leitz VISO system w/o TTL metering or flash??? I strongly suspect that if you find the right combination of adapters, you can combine the Canon A adapter with VISO lens heads. Use it on a Canon T-90, and you will have TTL flash, three metering modes, multi-spot metering, and a 4.5 frame per second motor drive. Is the T90 is really a VISO 4 in disguise?

Last newbie question (maybe ;))... do you get convertors that go the other way?! For example a converter to use EF lenses on a FD, M42 or OM? I think not but no harm in asking I guess...

Generally, an adaptor that will fit Canon EF lenses to any other body would be a waste of time, as the only sensible way to control the Aperture on the lens is electronically. So, to build an adaptor that could do that would probably cost as much as a high end EOS film body sells for these days.

Or get a Minolta Dynax 7 or 9 where you can rewind the film with the leader out and it will remember the positions of each frame for the past 8 films loaded, allowing you to switch films mid roll or double expose any frame, just select it!
I knew there was at least one film body that'd do that trick, just couldn't remember which one it was.
IIRC there was a custom function on the EOS100 to do it and I know it can be done on a T90, though the latter requires soldering two points internally.

I've got a small collection of FD kit that I'll be off-loading shortly as I find it's too big to carry around. My OM2SP gives as good if not better results than my T90 and A1 and is so much easier to take with me.

The T90 just lets you rewind the film with the leader out if you solder those two contacts together, it doesn't remember the position of each frame so once again it would be just sheer guesswork as to what frame it would be on when you reloaded the film. Just about any camera with a built in winder can be set to rewind with the leader out.

Ah, I see what you mean, I was just thinking about leaving the leader out. :bonk:
