Hi,

I am currently living in Berlin, but about to leave it, heading to London.
Please be forgiving regarding my english mistakes*, as I will when you talk in german or french :)
I started this hobby early with an agfa pocket, later (at 14 years or so) with a brand new minolta X700, but after a few years, I turned more to other things. In the digital years, I photographed more again, even if it was only with a half decent 3MP camera (though with manual mode and an f2.0 lens), until I finally found DSLRs good enough and affordable and bought a Samsung GX-1s (why? small, lightweight, good prism viewfinder, solidly built, and the large range of available older and compatible Pentax mount lenses).

So, since then I photographed much more again and love it.
Mostly people, also nature and architecture/city life.
I'd love to make it for a living, but well, you don't have to fear new concurrence, as I'm not good enough... yet :D

I'm sure I will be in good company here... and for you - one stupid new user won't really make a difference and only lower the average quality of posts very slightly, I guess.

All the best to everyone,
Dominique

Okay! First things first, unless something is specifically English, e.g. the football team, it's best to refer to things as British so that you include everyone i.e. the Scots, The Welsh, those from Northern Ireland and everyone from all the islands around the coast too.

Now that's done. welcome, and don't worry about your English, you should see some of the members' langauage skills here!

or the English language, as togic is referring to in both instances ;)

Welcome to the forums togic :)

Hi Togic, :welcome: to TP and home the move to London is a smooth one.

The thread title is ambigous enough for there to be no way to know for sure, so my friendly advice is still pertanent.

Incidentally, it's not just good advice for those from overseas, there are plenty people whose first language is English who could do with remembering it!

Thanks for the nice welcome!
Thinking about it, I'm not even sure what I really referred to (or referred to more), language or geographics.
But I'm glad you pointed me at it, NorthernNikon, it's silly but I think I did it before (just like many people here say 'America' when they actually mean the US) and hope you'll believe me that I didn't want to ignore everyone here in the forum who lives outside England :)

So I introduced myself by dropping a clanger, argh! :bonk:

Cheers,
Dominique
