Hey all,

What do you all recommend for 3rd party straps for a canon 7D? Mostly will be carrying a 70-200 F2.8 IS L or a 100-400 IS L on it so it needs to be comfortable. Preferably a strap that can be used for both around the neck and shoulder.

Thanks!

I use the R strap. there are loads of similar ones
importantly when you're carrying a 70-200mm you shouldn't use the original strap imho
I attach it to the lens instead of the camera body so as not to stress the join as much

I use a Black Rapid :) Carried a 5dII + 24 - 105 all day around Paris a while ago with no ache at all. Have used it with my 70 -200 as well. God send!

Qstrap on 1D & 70-200 f2.8 use it all day and 1/3 price of black rapid.

Black Rapid get my vote too- I carry my a99 and 150-500mm on mine

Les

I usea a Black Rapid RS-7 and use my 5D and 24-105 all day with no aches or pains.
One word of caution if you should ever trip over like i did last year be aware your camera will take bit of a bash what ever strap you use. if on rough ground i tend to use a Lowepro 75 bag since that incident.

I also use optech, but have the Carry Speed Pro for heavier combo's.

thanks all for the replies. The Black Rapid RS-7 looks really good, but one question.. if you attach it to the tripod screw on the camera, can you then attach a tripod plate to it?

OpTech Pro for me - does a great job with both 100-400 & 70-200 2.8.

I've got 2 Q-Strap slings and a dual harness and have easily carried a gripped 7D and 70-200 f2.8L IS MkII ll day with no problems on any. Usually I had a gripped 5D MkIII and Sigma 150-500 OS on the other side of the harness and with both the weight is easily distributed and comfortable. With the single sling it's very comfortable to carry all day.
