No
got the sample from tempest of my 7 year olds class photo and I'm pretty shocked at the "style". Gone is the traditional class photo which we would have bought and in comes a moronic panoramic shot of the class in silly new age poses.

if I could find an example online I would :'(

Daryl does loads of this...it is the new 'thang'

You have to move with the times...stop being so lost in time.

there is a difference between cr@p and being different - this is cr@p

really hard to follow thread without some sort of picture.. a thread about a picture wiht no picture is....well... ?

well I can't scan it (copyright) and I can't find a pic of the examples they sent.

its a 7x16 print kids standing in a line, some holding hands, others doing a kind of beattles walk, somt with their hands on theor hips, others on their knees and the teacher sitting in a chair. A total mish mash of poses, its pretty god dam awful TBH
lol

I ahve seen the ones daryl does and was impressed.. miles different to what you expect of a school picture... loved them...

is it the concept you dislike or the implimentation?

concept, its bloody stupid - although I was not impressed with the portrait I got from them as I had to level it by a fair amount and clone in extra bits to make a print from it.

I'm sure some people will like it, no doubt the same people that have family pics of the kids crawling all over them ala venture but its not for me. I like having the school pics of my kids but what we got was nasty.

Post it small res for editorial review with the faces blurred and with a copyright notice

THe new style class pics r terrible, the kids are photographed in groups of5/6 the the group shots are, such together to make it look like a class pic. It's made worse by the kids looking taller/ smaller than they should be, in comparison too others. And kids that were absent photo day,we're photoshopped in! X

Must be a marmite thing then... I love the ones Daryl does...

great thread. my 5 year old has just had her first school photo, I completely forgot about it and sent her to school not looking her tidiest oops!. however I thought the photographer could've just tidied her hair a teeny tiny bit. gutted! not the best! and not in a quirky way either.

I would prefer to see the recent styles as they show off the childrens personalities, the old style ones make the children look too "prim and proper!"

HAHAHAHAA I thank you from the bottom of my heart........

I'd have preferred this kind of style to the same old pose both my daughters school togs produced year in year out, I stopped buying them after their first year of seniors. Mind you I reckon if you asked a teenager to pose like that you'd probably get told to sling your hook:)

I've got a young 'un at primary school and they are certainly better than the plain boring head and shoulders shot which just doesn't say anything about the child....more like a passport photo or a mug shot! At least the togs must get involved with the kids to get them enjoying themselves. I just hate the price!!

Not so keen on the wedding shot to be honest, but I quite like the idea of the newer styles with the primary school kids. I find the traditional ones a bit boring now. If I see one on someone's shelf I don't give it a second glance. I like the idea of a little personality with each child rather than the regimented traditional style.
It's a Marmite thing by the looks of it and we're all entitled to our views.
