In my ongoing desire to get fast BB around the house, I have installed a few home network plugs to good effect.

To finalise the process, I now want a good quality modem / router to use. We have BT Business internet which is pretty good, coupled with a netgear router that is about 5 years old. It's time I got a new one so am looking for suggestions please.

Any recommendations? It needs to be able to provide a good wifi signal across 5 floors (although the HNP means this is no longer strictly necessary) as well as allow good quality video streaming to three PCs via CAT5e cables.

Thanks for any advice,

Kevin

ADSL2 modem/router?

Personally, I'd split the functionality and look at a router plus a separate modem. If you want all in one, the Draytek stuff is supposed to be quite good...

I would doubt that unless your 5 floors are made of rice paper walls/floors all routers will have difficulties with providing good wifi signal across all floors.

For small or soho applications I really like the Fritz!Box routers, great stable and easy to configure. Special party trick I like is the integration of landline telephone with ip phones, dect phones, voicemail for all, and an excellent quality of service settings.
