New phone time?

Hi all

I have been happy with my Lenovo G82 5G phone but it now needs charging every day as a matter of routine = sign of battery degradation :(

I have also been content with the size of the phone @ 6.6 inch screen

Now, it's replacement seems to be the model G86 but one significant change is to the dual SIM configuration! The G82 has two physical SIMs (one position can be a micro memory card)
But the G86 has one physical SIM and an eSIM and I am unsure about the pros & cons of eSIM vs physical SIM.

So, firstly what about the eSIM and then can anyone suggest alternative brands & models to consider with dual physical SIMs ???

TIA

eSIMs seem to be the way to go. I have just switched network and ordered a SIM from the new provider. When I inserted it in the phone I found out the previous provider had used an eSIM. Have a Google about eSIMs to find out the differences.

No idea about dual physical SIMs. With new models being released all the time the move is to dual eSIMs.

Ah!

I have had a quick 'read around' and as far as I can tell there is no clear downside to an eSIM.

In fact, depending on the phone and usage needs, more than one eSIM is possible and can be switched around as needed. NB it seems that Martin Lewis (the Money saving expert) thought.....based on one trip abroad......worth having to " save money"!

So, I will keep an eye on any other responses and decide in due course what suits me.

I have two providers on my iPhone, so have a Primary line (SIM) for mainly calls and a Secondary eSIM) for data, each are clearly differentiated on the phone and the eSIM was simple to setup - no downsides for me. :)
