New Old Film Challenge discussion thread

erm difficult one for me as I don't have a shot of a mushroom or even the stuff on my roof or moss on my car, all I have got is pond weed which is to remote for shoe horning :(

Hmmm, I'm still waiting for Monday 27 September to arrive! I think I'll change that to 29 September and close it tonight! Last orders, please...

Poll added for you fungi and moss. Please vote now!

Uploading a photo is so annoying...can't get a big picture with flickr and uploading an attached file it wouldn't even accept 700px on the longest edge :headbang: How I miss imgur.

What size file are you uploading to Flickr? Once it's on Flickr, you click on the curved arrow which should then list a number of different sizes. You click on the size you want to post and it gives you a code, which you then copy and paste on here. Hope I haven't missed a step!

I don't have a problem uploading raw files of unto 20Mb or maybe more to Flickr so not sure what's happening for you Brian. I don't have to tell it the size, just upload it. Then select the bcd image size to export for TP

1000px on longest size

maybe I should try uploading to flickr well above 2000px on the longest side but will T&P accept it?

TP only accepts max 1024px on the longest side and 500kb file size. The trick is to upload the original file whatever size to Flickr, then click on the export (right arrow button) in Flickr to extract a copy, but click on the BBCode option. You can then select a file size for "export" (not really exporting) which gives you a url for that size of image, and you just copy/paste that url into the thread on TP.

it works thanks

Just found out that the other site I'm using i.e. imgbb.com also works with embeded codes and have tested it here pasting a link. Silly me for forgetting about embeded codes

I'm correct in thinking that the dimensions and file size limitations only affect direct uploads, aren't I? I think you can link to any size file you want if it's embedded. I regularly post much bigger images with no issues.

100% correct Nige. Limits are for direct uploads only. BBCodes can link to any size image in Flickr (I've linked to 45Mb jpgs in the past).

Another free site I'm playing with is imgbob....free and you can paste here using embed codes. Maybe a sticky here would be useful for free sites to use? As for me, losing imgur had to browse and look for sites to use.

Hi Nick @RaglanSurf , have you managed to relocate your world enough to set up a poll on your "wrapped up" challenge?

Still a few hours left to recall that memorable holiday or meet-up and post it here :)
