I can’t quite bring myself to actually use “Christmas” as a theme, so I thought I’d pick “celebration” instead :D

Any reason to celebrate, birthdays, Christmas, graduation, retirement. Whatever. Fun times with happy people celebrating a special occasion.

As usual, the rules are:
  • Must be a photograph taken by you
  • Must be on film
  • Must have been taken prior to the start date
  • Please tell us about the camera and film etc, with a description of the image.
Closing date around lunch time on the 15th, and then voting will close the morning of the 19th.

Discuss the challenge in this thread

Slight shoehorn for this one, but it was used for the celebration of mass when Fort Augustus Abbey was active as a religious building. This is the main "church" part of the Abbey just as it was about to be changed into apartments, and was taken (unusually for me) on Kodak T400 CN , which is a C41 process mono film. The contact sheet says 2005, and I'm guessing this would have been taken on whatever compact I was using at the time, possibly an Olympus XA.

Cheers Carl, that was unexpected.

@Jao I'll PM you later mate.

Voting's closed, and it's a draw! @Andysnap and @Jao both tied on 11 votes. Cracking photos and worthy winners, well done chaps :) I'll leave it to you two to decide the next theme :)

..but hasn't Andy got 12 votes? well done I liked that shot

Well done Andy, great shot and a worthy winner

Oh, er, ok.... Thanks Adrian, I feel that I've not entirely deserved the win as 2 of the votes came in after the close of play. Im happy to to decide a theme between us if you want.

Andy, take the glory, yours is an excellent shot, fireworks are a b*gger to get on film, so a worthy winner in my view

Ok, thanks folks. I'll think of a theme for the new challenge asap. :D

o_O:eek: my next attempt for fireworks is the beginning of the new year after my failure on Nov 5th :(

He does now, but didn't when I posted. Some sneaky b****r must have voted after I posted to say it was closed

I do believe that on the one very rare occasion that I had to put up a vote you can specify a time period so it will automatically close. Hope that helps future winners.

Yes, I know .

Been a bit busy but I'll sort it out this afternoon :D
