New Nikon V1

+1 for Willo. After looking at the specs (seems very good) I just dont know what the final IQ will be. I've never had Nikon but I have a friend who does and he said he wouldn't swap his D90 for the V1.

The Nikon V1 has some interesting techno bit to it like very fast AF plus it does some intersting stuff with video.

There are now begining to appear some reviews of it and one thing that does stand out is "the m4/3rds has a better ISO performance than the Nikons...."

But a Sony Nex beater?

No, Sony uses a APC chip the same one as in the Nikon D7000 and the Pentax K5, so the Sony again has a better high ISO capability and at the moment more lens plus you can get attachments and fit loads of older MF lens to them.

The Nikon does score on Video and being smaller, but size wise there is not much difference between the Nikon 1 series, Olympus Pens and the Sony Nex.

I would be really interested in a V1 due to the good compromise between size and image quality but I think it is about £400 to expensive at the moment.

It's a great little camera, but way too high in price at the minute.

A Sony NEX beater...NO WAY!!

We now have them in at work and although they are really well made with a good selection of lenses the IQ isn't great but that's not what it was built for. It's the speed of the thing!! Burst rate and AF are superb. For general stuff they are great, If you pixel peep and want super high quality images look elsewhere.
