Some of these questions I know have been answered by some people on my old thread but very few people are reading it any more

I bought a Nikon D60 today and I love the feel it of it. I am sure it will bring many years of pleasure.

I just wanted to know if

1) I can find some tutotials that set basic photography tasks

2) HAVE General advice on the D60

I have just seen the post about Cannon's cashback about
certain people having problems receiving theirs. Have people had similar problem with Nikon

My Nikon D60 cashback camera within 2 weeks.

I am so happy with my D60 that I just want to talk about it all night. Any D60 users or even just DSLR users willing to talk to me via yahoo messenger or AIM or even MSN :D

Not litteraly all night. Just an expression.

is there a remote control available for the D60

I saw one on ebay for £4.95 but is it really compatiable with D60

Yeah, it'll work even if it doesn't say D60 specifically as long as it says D50, D40, D70, D70s etc it'll be fine.

Mine cost £2.50 :)

It does say D60 but I just wanted to if there is really such an item for a entry level dslr

A genuine Nikon one is only about a tenner, or if you have an old universal tv remote lying around (or buy one for £1.00 ) you can make that work too...

Actually you can do it if you can find the right code or key press. But its going to be bulky, so just get a cheapy from Ebay ;)

I found this site really good give it a go, its a free tutorial with tasks to do at the end of each section and i belive you can send them in and get feedback on them but not sure  hope it helps

It is bulky (and you get really funny looks if you use it in public) but the range is much, much better, if you need that sort of thing

everyone here is :cuckoo: especially flash in the pan :lol

Only Kidding no offense Just messing around

Plus if you hit the wrong button, Eastenders comes on around the neighbourhood by mistake.

Hey Guys last question before I depart for Dream Island

How difficult is it to clean the sensor, I know the d60 has self cleaning but surly it will clean it so far. I heard that the dust is stored at the bottom of the camera how do I empty this dusT OUT of this box because surly eventually the box will get full

not sure what you mean about dust getting stored in the bottom of the camera?
I've got a D40X which is similar and rocket blower and arctic butterfly cleans the sensor well and does the job after no cleaning for a year!
Shouldn't be different to cleaning any other sensor though, and with a bit of care and concentration its not too hard at all!

Don't talk about it! Pick the camera up and take photos with it.

Nikon's remote for the entry level DSLRs is infra-red, same as a TV remote control. In order to fire my D300 remotely I have to carry around a lump of a cable, instead of the remote I had with my D50. Grrr.

There's a sticky patch under the sensor where dust goes, apparently. I don't think you need to worry about it. Be sensible when you change lenses (turn away from the wind, point the camera down, have the lenses ready and change them over as quickly as possible) and you'll be fine. You shouldn't need to clean the sensor for the first few thousand shots at least.

The D60 has a dust reduction system, which the D40x doesn't. It works by blowing the dust off the sensor onto a sticky pad sort of set up.

Can I use any tv remote control I have a Hitachi 32inch tv with a remote that apparenty can control dvd and sat (although I think these devices have to be made by Hitachi) how on earth do I set it to work for my camera

You need the code for the specific make of remote control. There are lists on the internet.....
