Placed my order for the nexus 4 last night with. 5-6week wait stated. Just had an email informing me of it shipping. Not quite sure what google are hoping to get out of massively over estimating these shipping times.

There's a rumour that if you asked for the phone to arrive auto linked to your g mail then you have to wait a couple of weeks, whereas if you don't they're being sent out quickly

Obviously some weird system employed by Google for deciding dispatch order. I ordered mine on the 4th, with a 1-2 week delivery estimate, it was delivered on the 19th. I had asked for it to be linked to my Google account, too intent on making sure I got one to read that bit, although it hadn't been when it arrived. Not that I'm complaining as that wasn't the account I wanted it linked to anyway.

Haven't had much time to play with it but it's a very nice piece of kit and superb value for money

Got all of the paid apps I had on my old phone on to it and even managed to install the Star Trek Tricorder app that's no longer available from the Play Store
