The expensive Samsung monitor has just gone Kaput (uneconomic repair):.As its only three years old Im not inclined to spend megabucks on a new one.PC world have an LG 19" widescreen which looks terrific value at £99.Is it any good or should I be looking elsewhere ? Any comments on the LG and other helpful suggestions/alternatives very gratefully received.
Pete.

The Dell 2209WA is meant to be pretty good and something that I'm looking at getting in the next few months, along with strobes, calibrator, tablet......this hobby never ends the assault on your wallet does it :p

You can get the 2209WA for a bit less than £200 from a few places :)

Thanks guys. Please keep the suggestions coming.
Pete.

What is your top limit pricewise?

As little as possible-----Yeah I know its a daft answer but the Samsung cost plenty and lasted just beyond its guarantee---Not impressed. So I am looking for value for money and the LG looked a good deal.Technology is changing so fast now that I dont really want to spend more than £150.Less if poss.
Thanks,
Pete.

How far out of warranty ?

If its only just then i`d be inclined to contact them anyway and voice your displeasure ( politely)
Samsung are a big company and may just sort it out as a matter of good will.

Depends if you're using it for photography or just for games/surfing.

I decided/convinced myself that the E-IPS panel inside the Dell 2209WA which displayed 8 bit colour rather than 6bit colour that the cheaper TN panels did was worthwhile. So far its really impressive and much better than the Dell 19" panel I use at work.

My mate managed to get a replacement 32" HD telly out of Samsung recently, even though his previous one was out of warranty, so it might be worth a shot - they seem pretty good at Samsung in comparison to some of the other manufacturers in this respect! :)

just try misco or novatech, probably best sites for what you are looking for,

bit over your budget but misco have iiyama 24" full hd monitor for £175 looks amazing, if not probably the dell ultrsharps although they are probably over your budget
